Ensemble Capital Management Stands Against Racism
It should go without saying that Black lives matter. But today it does require saying. Black lives absolutely matter.
We know it is not enough to express our values. Change happens because of actions.
Effective immediately, we are reorienting our philanthropic giving program to focus on organizations seeking to eliminate systemic racism, particularly racism against Black Americans. Our initial step will be to make a $30,000 donation to the NAACP, whose mission is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race.
But a donation will do nothing to address the fact that Ensemble Capital’s employees are 20% people of color with no Black professionals on our team. Effective immediately, we commit to taking proactive steps in our hiring process to bring more racial diversity to our team. We know these strategies can work. We previously implemented proactive steps to bring more gender diversity to our team and 44% of new hires since then have been women.
We stand against racism and we stand with Black Americans.
It is also one of our core values to be nonpartisan in our investment analysis and financial advising. Our staff holds a variety of political views and our clients, who are spread out across the country, represent the full spectrum of political affiliations.
But there is nothing partisan about being anti-racist.
